What to do in Trapani if it rains

Don’t be upset!

Here is the answer, if it rains, as it seldom does in the summertime: take advantage of it and try one of our suggestions, you’ll surely find something intriguing among them, and the rain will soon be over. You’ll notice that some of them are on foot or request the use of public means of transport, while others request a car which, in case of rain, is the best solution. Check on the weather forecasts: only few kilometers away from Trapani you might find the sun shine; not much is needed to turn around a rainy day into an unforgettable one!

At sea if it rains

1Trapani

Have you ever tried the brisk sensation of a swim under the rain? When it’s a light rain, without lighting of course, it could be a good idea to go to the beach and have a swim: you will end up wet anyway! To be avoided in case of thunderbolts!

Shopping

It’s true: a sunny day invites you to take a stroll and shop around, but do not underestimate shopping in a rainy day: there are some shops like Grande Migliore or Oviesse which will keep you occupied for an hour or so, just the time for the rain to stop falling. Starting from Piazza Mercato del Pesce (see pict.below/above) in front of the Afrodite’s statue, take the right on the seaside street Dante Alighieri for Grande Migliore; Oviesse is in the parallel street on the left, called via Libertà.

R&R moments

colicchia

it rains but the temperature is comfortable. We suggest you a Sicilian granita, chez Colicchia, probably the oldest Italian-Ice vendor in town, or a visit to the Garrafish Lounge for a fish-treatment: fish pedicure and manicure and beauty care of any sort; you’ll end up with a big smile on your face! You can find them both on Via delle Arti.

Wine Tour or Thermal Baths

wine tour Trapani istruzioni per l'uso

Visiting the Florio wine cellars is an amazing experience of colours, perfumes and flavours! The rain will add an extra charm to this tour. English and Spanish speaking tour guides available from April to October, Monday to Friday at 11 am and 3.30 pm; on Saturday at 10.30 am. The entrance ticket for the Florio cellars costs 10 euros per person including: guided tour, three different Florio wine tasting combined with food tasting. To those of you who are not so fond of wine we suggest the hot springs of Segesta, with two pools (one is for kids) of thermal water and a natural sauna of roman age called Grotta Regina. This water is highly beneficial in the treatment of different ailments such as arthritis, skin and breathing diseases. There are three sources, two of them are inside the thermal facility, while the third one called Bagno delle Femmine (the womens Bath) is on the river bed of Fiume Caldo, (Hot River), a charming landscape of small waterfalls and hot water pools.

Move on, the rain won’t follow you!

cosa fare a trapani se piove

You’ve just arrived in Trapani and renting a car was not planned?

Too bad!

Of course you’ll find buses and trains to visit the surroundings… but they are not be the best solution for a one day trip, while waiting for the sun to come back. This is the reason why a rented car is the smart choice of a holiday here: you’ll move away from the clouds towards a sunny place just a few kilometers away: Mothia, Marsala, San Vito Lo capo, Mazara del Vallo Palermo…

You can even rent a car without a credit card, although it’s not easy: only a few car rentals do it on other forms of guarantee. Visit the section “Services” on this website or contact us for further information on the subject.
